Group Financial Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join a well‑established professional services organisation in Manchester on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. The role offers exposure to group reporting, financial control, systems development and business transformation within a large, complex UK business.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end reporting in line with deadlines.
• Prepare group consolidations and financial reporting under UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through accurate reconciliations and controls.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and external audit requirements.
• Manage month‑end activities including journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Maintain intercompany accounting processes and reconciliations.
• Assist with finance system enhancements and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to business projects, integrations and change programmes.
• Develop strong working relationships across finance and wider business functions.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Previous experience in financial accounting, audit, group reporting or financial control within the UK.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Experience in a multi‑entity or professional‑services environment.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.

Required skills

• SAP (or other ERP systems).
