Head of Conveyancing & Private Client Solicitor – Maternity Cover

About the role

This is a senior, hybrid position based in Lincolnshire, offering a 9‑12 month fixed‑term contract to cover maternity leave. You will lead the firm’s conveyancing department while also overseeing a small private client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the firm’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) accreditation and lender panel memberships.
• Manage a caseload of residential and commercial conveyancing transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages, equity transfers and commercial leases.
• Supervise and mentor fee‑earners handling wills, probate, trusts and estate planning matters.
• Develop and update internal policies in line with SRA guidance and the Conveyancing Protocol.
• Contribute to business planning, procedural development and client‑centred service delivery.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate in England and Wales.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in residential and commercial conveyancing.
• Proven supervisory or management experience within a legal department.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities, with a focus on high‑quality client care.
