Head of Family Help Systems and Family Hubs

About the role

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a dynamic senior leader to head the Family Help System and Family Hubs. This pivotal role will shape the delivery of early‑support services for children, young people and families across the county, ensuring a seamless, strengths‑based pathway from birth to age 19 (or 25 for young people with SEND).

Key responsibilities

• Provide system‑wide leadership for the Family Help model, establishing clear pathways, shared practice standards and multi‑agency accountability.
• Drive the integration of Family Hubs, Start for Life and Family Help services to deliver a coherent, relational offer.
• Champion co‑production with children, young people and families, embedding lived experience into design, delivery and evaluation.
• Ensure practice is preventative, trauma‑informed and focused on early identification and support.
• Collaborate with health, education, police, public health, voluntary sector and the Northamptonshire Children’s Trust to shape a unified early‑support approach.
• Represent the council as a senior system leader, influencing partners and steering strategic direction.
• Use data and evidence to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact on outcomes.
• Lead teams, fostering a culture of learning, reflection and high‑quality practice.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in children’s services, social care or related public‑sector environments.
• Strong collaborative and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Commitment to values‑driven, co‑produced service design.
• Ability to interpret national reforms and align local practice.
