Head of Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Operations to own and build Outpost's operational stack end‑to‑end, turning manual processes into repeatable, measurable systems. This hands‑on leadership role reports directly to the CEO and will shape the operating system of a fast‑growing global commerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational stack, including merchant onboarding, payments, treasury, compliance monitoring and new market launches.
• Design processes, write playbooks and automate manual workflows to enable scaling without proportional headcount growth.
• Run day‑to‑day merchant operations: support escalations, payouts, settlements, disputes and risk monitoring.
• Build and maintain operational metrics and dashboards for onboarding time‑to‑live, ticket volume, payout SLA and chargeback rates.
• Collaborate with engineering to spec, prioritize and test internal tooling for ops teams.
• Launch new markets with full legal, tax, payments and operational setup.
• Hire, onboard and develop a small operations team, setting standards for speed and quality.
• Provide the operational perspective in company planning, influencing product roadmap and cost decisions.

Required profile

• 6–10 years of operations experience at a high‑growth fintech, payments or e‑commerce infrastructure company (e.g., Revolut, Stripe, Adyen, Wise).
• Owned a major function such as onboarding, merchant ops, payment ops or risk ops, not just executed within it.
• Proven track record building processes from scratch in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a bias for action and ability to quantify and improve processes.
• Exceptional EQ, able to read situations, unblock blockers and thrive in ambiguous, chaotic startup settings.
