Head of Platform & DevOps

About the role

We are partnering with an ambitious UK technology business that delivers mission‑critical software solutions to high‑profile organisations. They are seeking a Head of Platform & DevOps to shape their cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and software delivery capabilities as they scale a next‑generation platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering and DevOps strategy across AWS environments.
• Drive a large‑scale migration from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise.
• Build scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevSecOps best practices.
• Establish modern observability frameworks using Grafana, Prometheus and Datadog.
• Report engineering and operational performance metrics directly to senior leadership.
• Mentor and grow a high‑performing engineering team.

Required profile

• Strong AWS expertise in enterprise or high‑availability environments.
• Proven experience leading DevOps or Platform Engineering functions.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD and cloud‑native tooling.
• Background working with JVM‑based systems, microservices, and modern engineering practices.
• Ability to translate technical strategy into commercial outcomes.
