Health Visitor – Children and Families

About the role

The Health Visitor will work autonomously within the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde framework, delivering specialist support to children and families. This permanent part‑time position is based at Eastwood Health and Care Centre and focuses on improving child wellbeing through assessment, referral and evidence‑based interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake statutory duties for each child in the caseload, assessing health, development and social needs.
• Develop, implement and monitor multi‑agency child plans in line with NHS policies.
• Provide parenting advice, health promotion, psycho‑social support and immunisation services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address public health priorities and complex issues such as child protection, domestic abuse and perinatal illness.
• Delegate, supervise and review work of team members as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
• Qualified SCPHN (Specialist Community Public Health Nursing) in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing.
• Ability to work independently, innovate and respond positively to change.
• Strong communication and partnership skills with families and professionals.
