Higher Level Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a school in Gravesend from October 2026. The role covers both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, requiring flexibility to support pupils in a variety of settings, from one‑to‑one sessions to whole‑class instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted support to individual pupils, small groups and whole classes across KS1 and KS2.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and lead whole‑class lessons when required.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and contribute to a positive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Hold relevant HLTA qualifications or proven experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience working across KS1 and/or KS2 and confidence supporting pupils 1:1, in groups and whole‑class settings.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills, with a flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
• Possess a fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
