Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Sept 2026)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Harrow from September 2026. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ confidence and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Support individual pupils and small groups to help them thrive academically.
• Lead whole‑class lessons when the class teacher is absent.
• Design and deliver inclusive learning activities that celebrate each child’s strengths.
• Provide additional support for pupils with special educational needs, offering patience and encouragement.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create engaging, creative lessons.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HLTA or in a comparable role.
• Genuine passion for child development and inclusive education.
• Warm, humorous, and creative approach to classroom interaction.
• Confidence in leading groups and stepping in for teachers when required.
• Reliability, dedication, and ability to maintain an upbeat classroom atmosphere.
