Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Year 6 (Eastleigh)

About the role

Reeson Education is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support a Year 6 class in a welcoming primary school in Eastleigh. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to take on additional responsibilities while working closely with the class teacher and senior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher and deliver lessons when the teacher is absent.
• Assist with classroom routines, planning, and assessment of pupil progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, senior leaders, and external professionals to ensure a smooth curriculum delivery.
• Help prepare students for KS2 SATs by delivering structured, inspiring lessons.

Required profile

• Recent experience supporting Key Stage 2, preferably Year 6.
• Confidence in delivering lessons independently.
• Professional, proactive attitude with strong communication and behaviour management abilities.
• Valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) and right to work in the UK.
