About the role
This position is for a Homelessness Prevention & Assessment Officer based in South London. The role is full‑time and starts immediately, supporting the authority’s statutory duty to prevent homelessness.
Key responsibilities
- Assess housing need and eligibility for statutory homelessness assistance.
- Make informed decisions in line with current homelessness legislation and case law.
- Develop and implement prevention strategies to avoid homelessness for at‑risk households.
- Maintain accurate case records and produce required reports.
- Collaborate with partner agencies and internal teams to deliver effective outcomes.
Required profile
- Minimum three years of statutory homelessness experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of homelessness legislation, case law and statutory decision‑making.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
