HR Advisor – Provide HR Guidance and Support

About the role

We are looking for a confident and proactive HR professional to join Arborvitae Care Services as an HR Advisor. In this role you will help shape a positive, consistent and compliant working environment for our team caring for children and young people aged 8‑17.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, solution‑focused HR advice to managers on complex and sensitive employee‑relations issues.
• Coach and support line managers in applying HR policies and best practices.
• Handle disciplinary, grievance, absence management and other employee casework, including investigations and hearings.
• Deliver training and upskilling sessions for managers.
• Build strong relationships across the business to understand team needs and tailor HR support.
• Collaborate with the wider HR team to roll out initiatives, drive change and embed organisational values.
• Maintain accurate HR records and monitor HR trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the development and review of HR policies ensuring legal compliance.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience).
• Previous experience as an HR Advisor or HR Officer in a busy, generalist environment.
• Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to resolve employee‑relations issues confidently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a professional approach.
• Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with great attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growing organisation.
• Confidence working with stakeholders at all levels and handling confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
