HR & Payroll Coordinator

About the role

This newly structured position sits within a small UK HR team and reports to the HR Business Partner. It offers a blend of payroll depth and generalist HR experience in a collaborative, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end monthly payroll, liaising with an external provider and handling SSP, P11Ds, P45s and statutory maternity pay.
• Manage contract creation and amendments, pension provider interactions, and maintain accurate digital personnel files.
• Oversee recruitment from job posting to offer, run onboarding inductions and act as a liaison across offices.
• Administer absence, sickness and maternity tracking, support probation, off‑boarding and respond to day‑to‑day HR queries.
• Assist with HR process audits, policy updates and contribute to projects on retention, employee health and employer branding.

Required profile

• Proven, hands‑on payroll experience (essential).
• Previous role as HR Assistant, Coordinator or Administrator.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and payroll legislation.
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail across linked systems.
• Confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels and comfort working independently.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Exposure to HRIS systems (training provided).
