Talent Acquisition Specialist

About the role

Metro is seeking a proactive Talent Acquisition Specialist to join its People & Performance team at the Birmingham headquarters. The role focuses on direct sourcing, building talent pipelines and managing the end‑to‑end recruitment process for a fast‑growing logistics business.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively source high‑quality candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and other direct‑sourcing channels.
• Manage the full candidate journey, ensuring a positive experience from first contact to offer acceptance.
• Conduct initial screening calls to evaluate skills, experience and cultural fit.
• Partner with hiring managers and senior stakeholders to align candidate shortlists with business needs.
• Coordinate interview schedules and provide guidance to both candidates and interviewers.
• Communicate verbal offers, support hiring managers through the offer stage and drive timely acceptances.
• Oversee relationships with external recruitment agencies to ensure effective collaboration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in full‑cycle recruitment, preferably within logistics, transport or related sectors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet hiring targets.
• Commitment to delivering a compliant and candidate‑centric recruitment process.
