About the role
We are partnering with a respected education organisation to find a temporary HR Systems Assistant. The role supports the HR Systems team, ensuring data accuracy and providing day‑to‑day system assistance. It is primarily remote, with an initial two‑day‑per‑week training period in Birmingham and occasional office visits thereafter.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain employee records in the HR Information System (HRIS), keeping data up‑to‑date and GDPR‑compliant.
- Provide first‑line support for HR system queries, troubleshoot issues and escalate complex problems.
- Conduct regular data quality checks and resolve discrepancies.
- Support data‑cleansing activities to improve overall data reliability.
- Manage user accounts and system access permissions in line with organisational policies.
- Assist the HR Systems Lead with administration, reporting, testing, process improvements and project work.
- Generate routine and ad‑hoc reports from the HRIS for the HR team and wider business.
Required profile
- Experience working with complex systems, preferably HR‑related.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Proactive, curious mindset with solid problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with a customer‑focused attitude.
Required skills
- HRIS (experience with any HR information system).
