HV Fitter – High Voltage Substation Installation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HV Fitter to join a market‑leading power industry company based in Birmingham. You will work on high‑voltage substation projects, installing and assembling critical equipment while supporting testing and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Install high‑voltage electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers and associated cabling.
• Fit and assemble structural steelwork, control panels and other substation components.
• Perform mechanical and electrical fitting, cable installation, terminations, earthing and bonding.
• Assist engineers and technicians with troubleshooting, testing and commissioning of equipment.
• Maintain health and safety standards on site and ensure quality workmanship.

Required profile

• Proven background as an HV Fitter or similar role in DNO, substation or power‑station environments.
• Experience working on high‑voltage projects, preferably within the UK power sector.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Ability to work on site in Birmingham and travel as required.
