HVAC Apprentice – D2/SM2/P2 License (Manchester)

About the role
We are seeking motivated HVAC Apprentices who have completed their trade schooling and wish to work toward a Connecticut D2, SM2, or P2 license. You will work under the guidance of a licensed journeyperson, gaining hands‑on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial HVAC systems while upholding safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot HVAC systems.
- Assist with demolition, removal, and installation of HVAC equipment.
- Install sheet metal, ducting, copper piping, PVC, and fittings (brazing, Pro Press).
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Promote repairs, replacements, and sales opportunities.
- Keep service vehicles and tools organized and secure.
- Ensure a safe job site by using proper PPE and following safety guidelines.
- Communicate with dispatch, management, and coworkers to deliver excellent service.
- Participate in ongoing training and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal HVAC regulations.
Required profile
- Completion of schooling for the HVAC trade discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, schematics, and blueprints.
- Understanding of refrigeration and heating cycles and ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
- Physical capability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lb and work at heights over 3 ft.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and maintain reliable attendance.
Required skills
- Proficiency with multi‑meters and electrical circuit diagnosis.
- Experience using HVAC load calculation software on Windows OS.
- Knowledge of sheet‑metal, duct, copper‑pipe, and PVC installation, including brazing and Pro Press techniques.
- Familiarity with HVAC components, controls, airflow dynamics, and psychrometrics.
