Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and support secure virtualised environments within a high‑assurance infrastructure. The role will focus on hypervisor deployment, virtual server provisioning, Windows hardening and Active Directory design, working alongside security, network and systems teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and configure virtual server environments, including hypervisor installation and management.
• Provision, monitor and maintain virtual machines to ensure performance, availability and scalability.
• Implement Windows system hardening and lockdown measures using GPOs and CIS baselines.
• Design, deploy and manage Active Directory domains, forests and group policies.
• Support core infrastructure services such as DNS and TCP/IP networking.
• Monitor system performance, availability and security posture across the infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across virtualisation, operating system and network layers.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, build guides and configuration standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure or Systems Engineer in enterprise or complex environments.
• Hands‑on experience building and supporting virtualised server environments.
• Demonstrated ability to implement Windows server hardening and security controls.
• Experience designing, deploying and administering Active Directory.
• Background supporting core services such as DNS and networking.
• Experience working in secure, regulated or mission‑critical settings is highly desirable.
