Interim Senior Contracts Manager

About the role

The Interim Senior Contracts Manager will lead the contract management function within the Corporate Contract Management team of a large organisation. Reporting to senior directors, you will ensure contracts are administered efficiently, compliance is maintained and commercial value is maximised throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial assurance and governance support to Directors, Heads of Department and Project Managers on corporate contracts.
• Coach and supervise contract administrators to achieve consistent technical competence across all contracts.
• Develop and maintain procedures for early identification and resolution of contract issues, including disputes and change provisions.
• Draft and review change instructions, manage change requests through the governance structure, and ensure accurate reporting.
• Monitor contract risk registers, support mitigation initiatives and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Liaise with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Legal and Risk Management teams to facilitate seamless contract administration.
• Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all contract‑related activities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior contract management within procurement or construction environments.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NEC contract forms and administration.
• Understanding of contract change management processes.
