Inventory Controller – Supply Chain

About the role

Air Liquide is looking for a proactive, detail‑oriented Inventory Controller to join its Specialty Gas facility in Tunstall, Stoke‑on‑Trent. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will ensure optimal stock levels, accurate records and prevent both overstocking and shortages.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counts, full stocktakes and reconciliations.
• Own audit results and minimise variances between physical stock and system records.
• Optimise storage layout and support efficient material flow to sales and warehouse teams.
• Work with suppliers to resolve inventory discrepancies and ensure timely deliveries.
• Use inventory management software and spreadsheets to monitor orders, develop forecasting models and address potential shortages or excess.
• Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve supply‑chain and inventory processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in inventory or stock management, preferably in a warehouse, logistics or site‑operations environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve discrepancies with corrective actions.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required.
• Basic understanding of supply‑chain processes and their impact on inventory.

Required skills

• Excel or Google Sheets proficiency.
• Experience with inventory management software.
• Ability to develop and use forecasting models.
