About the role
The IT Manager will ensure the secure, reliable and efficient operation of Pikl’s IT environment for staff in Norwich, London and remote locations. The role sits at the intersection of IT operations and information security, focusing on high‑quality delivery and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Provide responsive, high‑quality support to end users and act as the primary IT contact.
- Maintain day‑to‑day operation of endpoints, networks, Wi‑Fi and core cloud systems.
- Manage joiner and leaver processes, ensuring secure provisioning and de‑provisioning.
- Own the IT asset register, handling procurement, tracking and lifecycle management.
- Deliver small‑to‑medium IT projects and improvements.
- Interface with the external IT provider, managing tickets, prioritisation and service quality.
- Implement and operate security controls, administer endpoint protection, email security, IAM and patching tools.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, audits and compliance activities (Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001).
- Enable safe adoption of AI tools, enforcing data handling policies and providing guidance.
Required profile
- Significant experience in an IT support or IT manager role within a small‑to‑mid‑size business.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and modern endpoint management.
- Hands‑on experience with networking basics, Wi‑Fi and routing.
- Experience managing an outsourced IT provider and supplier relationships.
- Practical experience implementing security controls and familiarity with Cyber Essentials/ISO 27001.
- Exposure to AI tools in a workplace context and understanding of associated risks.
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented with strong documentation habits.
- Clear communicator able to explain technical issues pragmatically.
