IT Manager & Operations Lead

About the role

The client, a charitable organisation, is looking for an IT Manager / IT Operations Lead to act as the primary liaison between internal staff and external IT service providers. You will ensure smooth delivery of day‑to‑day technology support while contributing to strategic IT programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with third‑party IT suppliers and external support teams.
• Coordinate routine office IT tasks such as laptop swaps, user account administration and file‑access permissions.
• Gather and act on staff feedback, resolve ongoing issues and escalate critical incidents.
• Participate in the AI Champions and SharePoint Champions groups, providing guidance, training and SharePoint housekeeping.
• Support periodic IT reviews covering websites, user accounts, software licences, subscriptions and asset inventories.
• Contribute to the IT Programme Board, lead specific workstreams and maintain the programme risk register.
• Assist with IT budget monitoring and recommend resource re‑allocation where needed.
• Develop, update and enforce IT, information security and privacy policies in collaboration with outsourced providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing IT operations within a multi‑vendor environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact with staff, suppliers and senior management.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize issues in a fast‑paced setting.
• Willingness to work on‑site two days a week and remotely three days.

• Cyber security best practices and awareness.
• IT asset management (hardware and software inventory).
