IT Solutions Designer / Infrastructure Lead

About the role

Join a forward‑thinking public sector organisation in West Yorkshire as an IT Solutions Designer/Infrastructure Lead. You will translate business needs into secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions while shaping the future architecture of a complex, innovation‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end technology solutions across infrastructure, networks and cyber security.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and solution specifications.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards and blueprints.
• Ensure solutions are secure, integrated, scalable and fit for purpose.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend suitable options.
• Conduct risk assessments and support mitigation planning.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather and validate requirements.
• Support Agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in solution design, architecture or a technical lead role.
• Strong background in infrastructure, cloud, networking and cyber security.
• Experience designing secure, scalable enterprise solutions in complex environments.
• Understanding of system integration, enterprise architecture principles and technical governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Public‑sector experience is advantageous.
