Joiner – Fire Door Installation Contractor (Day Rate)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing fire‑door specialist operating across the North West, is seeking experienced joiners to install fire doors on a contract basis. Working on a variety of domestic and commercial projects, you will travel throughout Greater Manchester and occasionally further afield, delivering high‑quality installations on a day‑rate basis.

Key responsibilities

• Install fire doors and frames in line with BS 8214 and current fire‑safety regulations.
• Ensure precise fitting, alignment and correct door gaps to maintain fire and smoke integrity.
• Fit and adjust ironmongery such as hinges, closers, locks, intumescent strips and smoke seals.
• Carry out post‑installation checks to confirm doors close, latch and perform under fire‑safety requirements.
• Complete installation records, compliance paperwork and certification for legal and client standards.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 Joiner qualification (minimum).
• Valid CSCS card.
• FIRAS installer number.
• Driver’s licence with own vehicle (van preferred).
• Desirable: SSSTS or NVQ Level 3 site supervisor certification and First‑Aid at work.
