Junior Finance Business Partner

About the role

This is a six‑month fixed‑term opportunity (with potential to extend) within a respected housing charity in Manchester. The role covers maternity leave and offers a hybrid working pattern, allowing you to develop core management‑accounting skills while supporting a fast‑growing team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support to budget holders and senior finance staff with management information.
• Assist in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts.
• Produce reports to aid decision‑making for budget owners.
• Contribute to monthly financial reporting, including P&L and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Help prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts.
• Deliver variance analysis and commentary on departmental performance.

Required profile

• Experience with month‑end processes.
• Preferably some background in a charity or housing association.
• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Proactive, enthusiastic and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently.
