Junior RTL Power Optimisation Engineer

About the role

As a member of Apple’s Silicon Technologies group, you will help design and manufacture next‑generation, high‑performance, power‑efficient processors and system‑on‑chips. You will focus on power analysis and optimisation for Apple’s GPU products, ensuring our devices deliver the performance users love while conserving energy.

Key responsibilities

• Simulate GPU power consumption across a range of workloads using RTL, gate‑level, and emulation tools.
• Analyse simulation data to identify opportunities for energy‑efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with design and implementation teams to optimise logic throughout the development cycle.
• Generate and process power data using scripts, power models, spreadsheets, and machine‑learning techniques.
• Summarise findings and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Enhance existing power‑analysis methodologies and develop new optimisation techniques.

Required profile

• Good understanding of RTL design.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong grasp of circuit‑level power consumption and low‑power design techniques.

Required skills

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl or Python.
• Experience with RTL design concepts.
• Knowledge of low‑power design methodologies.
