Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant – Brent

About the role

As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant you will support young learners in a primary school setting, delivering one‑to‑one and small‑group sessions that build confidence and curiosity. You will also lead a dedicated nurture group for SEN pupils, providing a calm, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering KS1 curriculum and classroom activities.
• Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, including SEN learners.
• Run a nurture group, creating a safe and supportive space for pupils with additional needs.
• Monitor pupil progress and report observations to the teaching team.
• Promote the school’s values of fairness, compassion, and community in daily interactions.

Required profile

• Patience, resilience and a caring attitude.
• Experience working with primary‑aged children, preferably with SEN support.
• Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Ability to maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Required skills
