Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant in Birmingham

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a reputable primary school in Birmingham’s B13 area. The role begins in September 2026 and offers daily classroom support with the possibility of a longer‑term placement for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
- Create a positive and engaging atmosphere for all pupils.
- Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, adapting activities as needed.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher.
- De‑escalate behavioural issues and reinforce good behaviour in line with school policies.
Required profile
- Enhanced DBS check (must be on the update service).
- Relevant qualifications or prior experience working with young children.
- Willingness to undertake additional training as required.
- Flexibility to work full‑time, part‑time or on a temporary basis.
