Lead Solution Architect – Data Platform

About the role

Lead the architecture of the Bank of England’s flagship programme to modernise regulatory data collection and management. You will shape the design and delivery of a new data‑collection platform handling large volumes of submissions from banks, insurers and other financial firms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technology strategies, roadmaps and high‑level designs (HLDs, blueprints, target states) for enterprise and regulatory platforms.
• Lead architectural governance, presenting at design forums and ensuring alignment with Bank‑wide standards.
• Shape secure data architectures on Azure, covering ingestion, validation, modelling and metadata design.
• Partner with Technology, Data, Policy and Delivery stakeholders to influence decisions and provide thought leadership.
• Support procurement, vendor assessments and define technical requirements for key programmes.

Required profile

• Strong Azure capability (ADLS, Databricks, App Services, identity and integration patterns).
• Experience designing scalable, secure architectural artefacts and roadmaps.
• Deep understanding of data ingestion, validation, processing and integration.
• Proven stakeholder management across technical, business and supplier teams.
• Experience producing architecture designs and navigating governance and assurance processes.
