Learning Disability School Support Staff

About the role

We are looking for a Learning Disability School Support Staff member to join a Birmingham school. You will work alongside teachers to support pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including severe learning disabilities, autism, sensory impairments and medical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group support to pupils with learning, cognitive and autism spectrum needs.
• Assist with personal care, medical and physical support as required.
• Support pupils with hearing, visual, communication and speech needs.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN consultants to implement individualized plans.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with people who have learning disabilities or other additional needs.
• Familiarity with personal care, medical support and physical disabilities.
• Friendly, confident, approachable and able to work proactively.
