Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – AI‑augmented Software Engineering

About the role

The University of Manchester invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position in AI‑augmented Software Engineering within the Department of Computer Science. This role combines high‑impact research with teaching excellence at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and lead original research of the highest standard in Computer Science, focusing on AI‑enhanced software engineering.
• Develop and maintain national and international research collaborations.
• Design, deliver, and continuously improve teaching modules for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Supervise postgraduate research students to successful completion.
• Contribute to departmental administration and broader university objectives.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience (including industrial) in any area of Computer Science.
• Strong record of high‑quality publications in leading Computer Science venues.
• Demonstrated ability to develop teaching materials and supervise postgraduate students.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and research practices.
