Legal & Compliance Counsel – FCA Regulated Asset Management (Fractional, Remote)

About the role

An established FCA‑regulated asset management business is seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance Counsel to provide fractional legal and regulatory support to a small, lean team operating internationally. The role combines commercial legal work with day‑to‑day FCA compliance administration and is fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the firm’s FCA compliance framework, including registers, training records, PAD declarations and gifts & entertainment logs.
• Support the implementation of internal compliance procedures, monitoring, reporting and escalation of compliance matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements and employment contracts.
• Provide legal input on commercial arrangements, coordinate with external counsel and identify contractual risks.
• Handle ad‑hoc legal matters and support deal‑specific transactions while balancing multiple responsibilities in a fractional capacity.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer or legal counsel with approximately 5+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong commercial and generalist legal experience, including drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Ability to understand and manage FCA regulatory requirements and compliance administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, high attention to detail and autonomous working style.
