Level 4 Teaching Assistant – Primary School

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Manchester to find an experienced Level 4 Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will join a supportive team, delivering targeted interventions and helping pupils with a range of additional needs to achieve their best.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions to accelerate pupil progress.
• Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and other additional learning needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities.
• Lead learning sessions and supervise whole‑class activities during teacher release periods.
• Adapt resources and activities to suit individual pupil requirements.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Promote positive behaviour using consistent management strategies.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Required profile

• Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a primary school setting.
• Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Confidence in leading learning and intervention sessions.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Passion for helping every child reach their full potential.

Required skills

• Intervention delivery for pupils with diverse needs.
• Knowledge of SEND, SEMH, Autism and ADHD support strategies.
• Ability to adapt teaching resources.
• Behaviour management techniques.
