Locum Specialty Doctor – Emergency Medicine (12‑month contract)

About the role

This 12‑month locum position is for a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering acute care to a population of around 310,000 in Central Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency medical assessment and treatment to patients.
• Collaborate with 15 Emergency Medicine consultants, 3 Emergency Medical Practitioners and 5 Specialty Doctors.
• Support the ongoing transformation of Emergency & Urgent Care services.
• Participate in clinical handovers, teaching and departmental meetings.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Minimum four years post‑registration experience, including at least two years in Emergency Medicine at Specialist Trainee level or equivalent.
• Evidence of recent continued academic and professional development.
• Strong communication, listening and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Emergency Medicine clinical expertise.
