About the role

The Department of Economic History at the London School of Economics is seeking an LSE Fellow. This fixed‑term, two‑year position offers an entry route to an academic career for post‑PhD researchers or those close to completion, combining teaching and research responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and Master's courses in economic history.
  • Develop and deliver lectures, seminars and tutorials.
  • Contribute to curriculum design and assessment.
  • Engage in research projects and publish findings.
  • Collaborate with faculty members and provide student support.

Required profile

  • Completed or near completion of a PhD in economic history.
  • Strong knowledge of economic history and quantitative methods.
  • Developing research record in the field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues and support students.

What we offer

  • Fixed‑term contract for two years with salary £43,277–£51,714 per year.
  • Potential progression to £55,497 inclusive of London allowance.
