M&A Tax Senior Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a leading professional services firm to recruit an M&A Tax Senior Manager for its Transaction Tax team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will lead tax aspects of high‑profile UK and international M&A transactions, advising private‑equity backed businesses, owner‑managed companies and large corporates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead tax due‑diligence on both buy‑side and sell‑side transactions.
• Advise on transaction structures and assess wider tax implications of acquisitions and disposals.
• Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring high technical quality and timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser throughout the deal lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Tax, Corporate Finance and Advisory colleagues to provide seamless service.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals and contributing to pitches.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive experience in UK Corporate Tax and/or Transaction Tax.
• Proven ability to manage complex client engagements and lead project teams.
• Strong commercial mindset with the capacity to translate technical tax knowledge into business‑focused advice.
• Proactive approach to building client relationships and driving growth.
• Commitment to mentoring colleagues and fostering a collaborative team culture.
