Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing company in the North East of England. The role involves maintaining and improving existing plant and machinery, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure optimal equipment efficiency. The position operates on a three‑shift rotating pattern (days, evenings and nights) and may cover sites across Newcastle, Birtley, Sunderland, Washington and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and fault‑find machinery issues.
• Carry out repairs and refurbishment of equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Install and maintain new and existing plant.
• Work across multiple sites on a rotating shift schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong ability in fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance.
• Willingness to work a three‑shift rotating pattern and travel between sites.
• Desire for a long‑term career with progression opportunities.
