Field Service Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our service team in the North East. You will receive comprehensive training and will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining semi‑automatic and fully‑automatic end‑of‑line packaging machinery at customer sites across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair and commission semi‑automatic and fully‑automatic industrial packaging machines and associated tools on‑site.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting and corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Deliver preventive maintenance programmes to avoid mechanical and electrical failures.
• Train customers on correct machine operation and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with back‑office, planning and parts departments to ensure timely service delivery.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in electromechanics, mechanics, electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in field service, preferably with industrial equipment.
• Based in the North East of England and hold a full UK driving licence.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• PLC programming knowledge (Siemens preferred).
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Installation and preventive maintenance of packaging machinery.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
