Maintenance Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Birmingham. You will work within a close‑knit engineering team, ensuring production machinery runs reliably through planned and reactive maintenance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production equipment.
• Respond promptly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing machinery reliability and efficiency.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
• Collaborate with production teams to maximise plant performance.
• Ensure all work complies with safety procedures and company policies.

Required profile

• Previous maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault‑finding abilities.
• Experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
• Proactive attitude with solid problem‑solving skills.
