Management Accountant – Creative Industries

About the role

This is a full‑time Management Accountant position within an established, independently owned business operating across publishing, licensed products and international markets. You will report to the Financial Controller and work closely with senior decision‑makers, providing insight into the commercial performance of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, schedules and journals.
• Produce detailed profit & loss and balance sheet analysis.
• Report profitability across individual product areas and prepare sales reports with commentary.
• Analyse sales, marketing and production expenditure and support stock valuation for UK and international distributors.
• Prepare accruals, pre‑payments, work‑in‑progress schedules and royalty/licensing profit‑share reporting.
• Develop budgets and forecasts, present them at review meetings and maintain up‑to‑date P&Ls for titles and product lines.

Required profile

• Strong management accounting experience, with a commercial mindset.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Confidence to present financial information to senior management and explain it to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, owner‑led environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Good technical accounting knowledge.
