Management Accountant

About the role

Based in Birmingham, a national company is seeking a fully‑qualified Management Accountant to own the management accounts and lead a finance team. The role involves preparing accounts, providing insights and mentoring staff within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts for the company and its subsidiaries.
• Record all accruals, pre‑payments and depreciation.
• Track inventory levels and costs, overseeing regular stock‑take processes.
• Reconcile VAT, balance‑sheet accounts and inter‑company transactions.
• Collaborate with other departments on budgeting.
• Work with auditors on year‑end reporting and statutory accounts.
• Lead, mentor and manage a finance team, conducting regular one‑to‑ones and performance reviews.
• Compile financial data to produce reports and deliver actionable insights.

Required profile

• Fully qualified with CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Proven experience producing management accounts and delivering financial insights.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing and inspiring finance teams.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and capable of working independently.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.

• Salary £55,000‑£60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
