Management Accountant – Temp-to-Perm

About the role

This is a temp‑to‑perm Management Accountant position within a friendly, capable team at a respected South Birmingham SME engineering manufacturer. You will work on month‑end reporting, balance‑sheet controls and cost analysis while receiving strong mentorship from an experienced line manager.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end reporting process and maintain balance‑sheet controls
• Prepare and process general‑ledger journal entries
• Perform variance and performance analysis, monitoring key performance indicators
• Review and update standard costs, material COGS and bill of materials
• Support stock‑control processes and handle limited invoice processing

Required profile

• Experience in management accounting, including accruals and pre‑payments
• Manufacturing or engineering sector exposure is highly desirable
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables)
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn and a proactive, positive attitude
