Managing Director – Private Equity Industrial Manufacturing

About the role

The company is a private‑equity backed industrial manufacturing business operating in South West England. Reporting to the Board and working closely with investors, the Managing Director will lead the next phase of growth, focusing on operational improvement, organisational development and long‑term value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence initiatives across the manufacturing footprint.
• Improve margins through productivity, efficiency and process improvement.
• Build a high‑performance leadership culture with clear accountability.
• Strengthen operational disciplines, reporting and performance management.
• Partner with the Board to execute the strategic plan and maximise shareholder value.

Required profile

• Proven track record of improving operational and financial performance in manufacturing businesses.
• Experience leading change, transformation or turnaround programmes.
• Strong leadership credibility at all organisational levels.
• Commercial acumen combined with deep operational understanding.
• Ability to operate effectively within a Board and investor‑led environment.
• Current senior experience such as Managing Director, CEO, General Manager, VP of Operations, Operations Director or Plant Manager.
