Manufacturing Engineer – Final Assembly Operations

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support final‑assembly operations at its state‑of‑the‑art facility in Hethel. You will manage existing production lines, develop new processes and tooling for upcoming models, and drive continuous improvement across the assembly floor.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update production processes, ensuring alignment with build requirements.
• Analyse operation sequences, material flow and fixturing to improve line balancing and throughput.
• Design layout of equipment, materials and workspaces for maximum efficiency.
• Develop and maintain process sheets from released engineering data.
• Publish clear Man/Method/Machine/Material information for manufacturing teams.
• Coordinate on‑the‑job training for new processes with the Training department.
• Conduct time studies and periodic process audits to meet quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Support investigation of concerns, problem resolution and continuous‑improvement tracking.
• Assist in the design, specification, procurement, installation and commissioning of new tooling, fixtures and equipment.
• Validate new tooling, maintain tooling registers and support build phases from EP to SOP.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role, preferably within automotive or high‑performance vehicle environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to study processes, identify bottlenecks and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
