Mechanical Design Engineer – Chassis Team

About the role
We are seeking a proactive, hands‑on Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Chassis Team in Warwick. You will help design and develop the next generation of market‑leading vehicle products, working both on‑site and up to two days a week from home once settled.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of systems and components from concept through production.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, 3D models and supporting documentation to high standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and deliver effective design solutions.
- Support product launches and provide engineering input to resolve production and in‑service issues.
- Investigate technical problems, perform root‑cause analysis and implement robust solutions.
- Apply engineering best practice, ensuring quality, compliance and attention to detail throughout the design process.
Required profile
- HNC/HND/Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant industry experience, preferably in automotive or related sectors.
- Good understanding of core engineering principles such as materials, stress, fatigue and design fundamentals.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and confidence to own tasks through to completion.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Required skills
- CAD software experience (Solid Edge desirable but not essential).
- Production of engineering drawings.
- Awareness of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture/assembly principles.
What we offer
- Salary between £35,000 and £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- 37‑hour work week (Mon‑Thu 08:00‑16:30, Fri 08:00‑13:00).
- Hybrid working – up to two days remote per week after settling.
