Mechanical Engineer

About the role

This permanent position supports a leading bespoke machinery manufacturer. The Mechanical Engineer will act as the technical bridge between engineering documentation and the physical assembly of heavy‑equipment refurbishments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed technical assessments of returned machinery and define refurbishment requirements against OEM specifications.
• Create and manage 3D CAD models, assembly and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks, applying GD&T and DFMA principles.
• Provide technical liaison to workshop technicians and fitters, clarifying tolerances and drawing interpretations.
• Review completed refurbishments to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, standards and the bill of materials.
• Collaborate with Design, Quality and Customer Service teams to streamline the refurbishment workflow.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical engineering background with experience on heavy machinery, rotating equipment or hydraulics.
• Excellent ability to interpret complex 2D and 3D engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proven analytical skills in mechanical troubleshooting, root‑cause identification and corrective action planning.
• Clear verbal and written communication to convey technical instructions to workshop personnel.
