Join the Enablement and Independence service at Gateshead Council as a Medication Lead, a pivotal role dedicated to ensuring the safe, effective, and person-centered management of medication for adults across the region. You will play a crucial part in safeguarding the well-being of supported individuals by providing expert clinical leadership and maintaining the highest standards of care.

Missions principales

• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to ensure safe medication management across diverse settings (care homes, supported housing, home care, etc.).
• Ensure strict compliance with CQC regulations, national legislation, and internal organizational policies.
• Supervise and support approximately 250 staff members in their medication administration practices.
• Conduct monthly audits and maintain rigorous traceability to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Collaborate closely with pharmacy providers and healthcare professionals to optimize medication outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and dignity of the people we support.

Profil recherché

• Proven experience in clinical leadership or medication management within a regulated social care or healthcare environment.
• Deep understanding of CQC standards and healthcare compliance frameworks.
• Strong auditing skills with a meticulous approach to documentation and traceability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support a large, diverse workforce.
• Ability to work autonomously while fostering a culture of safety and person-centered care.
