Monitoring Officer – Swindon

About the role

The Monitoring Officer will ensure that outlets holding HMC (Halal Monitoring Committee) certification comply with the required standards for Halal food provision. Based in Swindon, the role also involves promoting the HMC certification to potential food businesses across the South West.

Key responsibilities

• Visit certified shops and restaurants to verify compliance with Halal food standards.
• Document findings and report any non‑conformities to the certification body.
• Provide guidance and corrective action plans to businesses that need improvement.
• Raise awareness of HMC certification benefits among prospective food operators.
• Maintain accurate records of monitored outlets and monitoring fees.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow regulatory guidelines.
• Good communication skills for interacting with business owners.
• Willingness to travel within the South West region.
• Ability to work independently and meet monitoring targets.
