National Account Manager – Grocery (Hybrid, Gatwick)

About the role

We are seeking a National Account Manager to join the Purina Sales team, leading the development and negotiation of Joint Business Plans with key grocery customers. The position is hybrid, based in Gatwick, and offers an attractive salary together with a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the negotiation of annual Customer Business Plans aligned with internal and external strategies and KPIs.
• Analyse data sets (EPOS, Nielsen, CIM, SRM) to build commercial plans that optimise revenue, trade spend and market share.
• Execute Customer Plans accurately, maintaining excellent communication and ensuring all documentation is completed.
• Lead customer contact strategy and build cross‑functional relationships at appropriate levels.
• Collaborate with the category team to deliver strategic new product development in agreed distribution.
• Use shopper and category insights to optimise portfolio mix and drive range delivery.
• Participate in internal planning processes (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and provide guidance based on external performance dynamics.

Required profile

• Proven commercial or sales experience within FMCG, with full P&L budget responsibility.
• Strong analytical ability and comfort working with multiple data sources to inform decisions.
• Excellent collaborative and cross‑functional working style, with high attention to detail.
• Ability to influence at all organisational levels and adapt style in ambiguous environments.
