Ocean Export Operator – Manchester

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading logistics provider for an experienced Ocean Export Operator to join their Manchester team. You will manage the full lifecycle of ocean export shipments, ensuring smooth execution from booking to final delivery for a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end ocean export bookings, documentation and customs clearances.
• Serve as the primary client contact, providing tracking updates and resolving issues.
• Coordinate with shipping lines and transport providers to secure vessel space and timely haulage.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping, customs and dangerous‑goods regulations.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of proven experience in ocean freight forwarding, focusing on exports.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work from the client’s Manchester office.

Required skills

• Proficiency with freight management software, specifically CargoWise.
