Offline CNC Miller Programmer – 3 & 5 Axis

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Offline CNC Miller Programmer to join a leading automotive engineering business. You will work alongside a skilled team of CNC machinists, programming, setting and operating modern 3‑ and 5‑axis milling equipment to produce bespoke, low‑volume precision components.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Perform online programming using Hurco WinMax and Fanuc control systems.
• Execute offline programming with SolidCAM software.
• Manufacture bespoke, low‑volume precision parts from a variety of materials.
• Produce tooling, fixtures and jigs as required.
• Carry out in‑process inspection and quality checks to ensure specifications are met.

Required profile

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Strong online programming background with Hurco WinMax and/or Fanuc controls.
• Demonstrated offline programming ability using SolidCAM.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Excellent understanding of machining processes, materials and tight tolerances.
• Time‑served CNC machining apprenticeship or equivalent (desirable).
• Experience mentoring or training apprentices (desirable).
